| Prepare to see and hear something entirely different, a contemporary jazz and blues guitarist, John Mark Schilling. John plays a diversified reper- toire of jazz, blues and his own arrangements of classic songs. |
||||||||
| His original jazz material focuses on his dual fretboard tapping technique and vocals. In the Central Florida area you may have seen him opening for Bela Fleck at the Sunset Serenade, performing at the Clearwater Jazz Holiday, Headlining at The Beacham's Jazz & Blues Club and Disney's Pleasure Island. John Mark Schilling has 40 years of music experience behind him. In the past John has shared the stage with Patti LaBelle, Ramsey Lewis, Sam Cooke, B.B. King, Kenny Rankin, Doug Cameron and Bela Fleck. Having played everything from rock to country he's now focused in on the blues and jazz repertoire. John plays acoustic and electric guitar to accompany his outstanding vocals, but the most unusual and talked about part of his performances has been his work on the double neck guitar. He has developed a dual fretboard tapping technique that is commanding attention wherever he plays. Articles about John's technique have appeared in The Orlando Sentinel, Guitar Player Magazine, Jam Magazine and The St. Petersburg Times. |
